SUMMARY
Under supervision of product engineer will operate DNA synthesizers in accordance with established procedures. Will complete down-stream processing of synthetic product (e.g., deprotection, dry-down). Will purify DNA probes using WAVE HPLC system. Will monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specification. Responsible for maintaining stocks of raw materials, buffers, and lab supplies. Must complete work on schedule in keeping with priorities determined by supervisor. Responsible for maintaining department documentation such as database updates, inventory records, manufacturing batch records. Will calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A 2-year Associates degree in chemistry, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 1 years experience as a chemical technician or similar occupation in an FDA regulated company
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with ABI 3900 DNA synthesizer.
- Demonstrable experience with WAVE HPLC systems.
- Demonstrable experience using modified bases, 2’OH ME RNA and MGB reagents.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Demonstrable organizational abilities and proven attention to detail.
