SUMMARY
The Product Manager's job is a U.S. NE based position with primary responsibilities for the product-line execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product requirements and working closely with design, sales, marketing and support to ensure ELITech business goals and customer satisfaction goals are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supporting development teams and Program Management (primarily R & D/Engineering) by specifying requirements for current and future products and ensuring there is appropriate definition of market/ customer requirements, defining product strategy, target customers and their needs, and product requirements based on customer, competition, and market factors.
- Ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals by developing product launch strategies and implementing launch plans for launching new products or product improvements to the market place including strategic objectives, tactics, pricing / margin policy, tools, timelines and required resources and applying metrics to monitor success.
- Works directly with key opinion leaders and partners to assist in design and development input and feedback of ELITech Molecular and Microbiology Diagnostics Products with a focus in providing direction regarding key performance criteria (workflow, accuracy, and perceived value).
- Actively participates in strategic planning for the business by providing feedback from the opinion leaders along with a thorough understanding of product market trends, applications and workflows.
- Provide recommendations to executives on strategic direction regarding new Molecular and Microbiology diagnostic instrumentation, software and reagents and assays including market drivers, restraints and competitors.
- Provides financial analyses of new and current products and market segment opportunities.
Collaborate with field sales –on site calls, Webinars, etc. - to increase ELITech Products to targeted accounts by participating in key sales situations for RUO/ASR/Molecular / Microbiology Diagnostic product lines. Attend key shows and expositions.
- Provides Support and Training on new products and current product improvements to technical staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS/MS degree in Biology (Molecular and Microbiology, genetics, or biochemistry with a strong knowledge in infectious diseases is preferred), Completion of an advanced degree in business (MBA) or
related science (Masters or PhD) is strongly desired.
- 3+ years experience in the marketing of Molecular and Microbiology products. Sales experience is a plus.
- Track record of success in use of marketing skills and market knowledge to prepare Molecular and Microbiology marketing plan for commercialization.
- Must have technical knowledge of Molecular and Microbiology reagents with an understanding of PCR/ASR/Molecular and Microbiology Diagnostics.
- Experience developing outbound marketing programs to drive demand for new and existing products as well as encourage repeat purchasing.
- Demonstrate ability to develop marketing plans that align with strategic objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and comfortable presenting to senior individuals both internally and externally.
Must have flexibility in working hours and available for 25% business travel to customer and non-customer sites.
